Skye-Net was born early in 2006 as a result of increasingly annoying and decreasingly informative internet searches. Trying to find sites specific to the Isle of Skye would more often than not return pages on search engines listing pages on search engines using pages on other search engines.

A little bit of Perl, MySQL, JavaScript, CSS & DHTML and a lot of browsing later, the database had 400+ useful listings and the world had Skye-Net.co.uk ~ The 'Isle of Skye' Engine.
